Canceling the “paper passport card” for passengers at Cairo Airport

Egypt officially announced the cancellation of the “paper passport card” for Egyptian passengers traveling and arriving at all passenger terminals at Cairo International Airport, starting next Saturday, April 11, 2026, in a step that ends decades of traditional paper transactions and is part of the state’s strategy for digital transformation and modernization of the airport system.
According to an official statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Civil Aviation, according to the decision, the paper data forms that Egyptian passengers were obligated to fill out in the travel and arrival halls will be completely dispensed with as part of efforts towards digital transformation and facilitating government procedures, in a way that enhances the flexibility and smoothness of travel.
The Ministry of Aviation confirmed that the actual implementation of the decision will begin at Cairo International Airport in all its terminals, and it is scheduled to gradually generalize the application of this system in the rest of the Egyptian airports during the next stage.
