"Abu Dhabi Health" The scope of primary care expanded around the clock through 12 centers in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain

ABU DHABI, 9 APRIL/WAM/ The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, in cooperation with the “Seha Clinics” affiliated with the “PureHealth” group, announced the extension of working hours in 12 primary health care centers to provide their services around the clock, a number of which include urgent care services, in a step that enhances ease of access to health services and raises the system’s readiness and ability to meet the needs of society efficiently and effectively.

This expansion comes as part of a trend to develop an integrated care model that is centered around the individual and keeps pace with the development of health needs by providing integrated, personal and preventive services available to everyone at any time, with the ability to deal efficiently with urgent cases, which contributes to reducing pressure on emergency departments in hospitals, supporting the sustainability of health services, and improving patients’ experience and health outcomes.

Primary care centers in both Mazyad and Sweihan operate around the clock, providing urgent care services to community members, while working hours were extended in ten other centers to become 24 hours a day, including Al Hili, Al Amrah, Al Hayer, Naama, Al Qoua, Al Bateen, Al Zaafarana, Al Bahia, Mohammed bin Zayed City, and Baniyas, in preparation for the start of providing urgent care services during the second quarter of 2026, as part of a phased expansion plan. It aims to enhance geographical coverage and respond to the growing demand for services.

Her Excellency Dr. Noura Al Ghaithi, Undersecretary of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, stressed that expanding access to primary care services around the clock, in parallel with enhancing urgent care services, represents a pivotal step towards building a more flexible, proactive and efficient health system, capable of continuously responding to the needs of individuals and families, noting that providing care at the right time and place is an essential pillar of the quality of health services, which will reflect positively on health results and patients’ experience, supports the sustainability of services and improves the quality of life in society.

For his part, Rashid Al Qubaisi, Chief Operating Officer of the PureHealth Group, said that this step, which comes with the support of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi and in line with the group’s directions, reflects the pivotal role of SEHA clinics in providing patient-centered care, meeting the diverse needs of individuals and families, while facilitating access to services in various regions, pointing out that operating a number of clinics around the clock and integrating urgent care services into selected centers embodies the commitment to providing world-class health care and enhancing the health of the community in the long term.

This trend reflects the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi’s keenness to develop health services in accordance with approved regulatory frameworks and international best practices, as the scope of services will be expanded in a number of selected primary care centers to include urgent care, based on the updated version of the standards for emergency departments and urgent care announced in October and November 2025, ensuring the integration of levels of care, enhancing quality and safety, and the sustainability of services.

Primary care centers provide an integrated package of personal services that focus on prevention, including the management of chronic and acute diseases, the provision of vaccines, in addition to health education and psychological support, and coordination with specialized doctors when needed, thus enhancing their role in supporting the journey of individuals and families towards better health at various stages of life.
