An Emirati arbitration team led by Omar Al Ali participates in the management of the 2026 World Cup

Dubai, April 9, 2017 – The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) announced that an Emirati refereeing team has been selected to participate in officiating the 2026 World Cup matches, hosted by the United States of America, Canada, and Mexico.
The crew includes international referee Omar Al Ali, international assistant referee Mohamed Ahmed Youssef, in addition to video technology referee Mohamed Obaid.
The next edition of the tournament is scheduled to be held with the participation of 48 teams, in a first of its kind in the history of the World Cup.
The selection of the Emirati crew came after the distinguished levels it presented during the last period, which contributed to its qualification to participate in this global event, with referee Omar Al Ali making his first appearance in the World Cup finals.
