المملكة: The start of development work on History Square to enhance traffic flow in Jeddah
started Jeddah Governorate Municipality Implementing development works on History Square, located north of Jeddah at the intersection of Prince Sultan Road and Hira Street, as part of a project to improve traffic intersections in the city, with the aim of enhancing the flow of movement and reducing the time of daily trips on this vital axis.
She explained The SecretariatThe project comes within the initiatives of the Quality of Life Program, one of the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, while these works are being implemented within "A project to implement traffic solutions to address traffic congestion in the city of Jeddah"It includes implementing integrated traffic engineering improvements that contribute to organizing traffic, raising operating efficiency, and reducing conflict points between vehicles, which reflects positively on the level of traffic service.
It indicated that the project aims to raise Service level and improving the urban landscape, while keeping the historical figure in its location as one of the elements of the place’s identity and memory, in order to achieve a balance between development requirements and preserving the aesthetic character of the square.
The Secretariat confirmed that the development work will contribute to raising the level of traffic safety and reducing accident rates, in addition to improving the transportation experience for road users by achieving greater traffic flow and reducing waiting times.
These works come within the framework of the Municipality’s plan to develop a number of priority sites in the city of Jeddah, by implementing practical solutions that contribute to improving the traffic environment, raising the efficiency of transportation, and enhancing the quality of life.
