المملكة: Through 119 health procedures… approval was given to import livestock from 40 countries
Adopt Food suppliesand the protection of biosecurity in the Kingdom.
The center revealed the implementation of a comprehensive evaluation system, which resulted in allowing the import of hatching eggs and chicks from 132 countries, and live livestock from 40 countries, in accordance with precise health controls and standards.
Approved import operations
He explained that the approved and safe import operations included importing birds from 90 countries, and ensuring Importing falconsfrom 95 countries, in addition to opening ports for importing horses from 71 countries to enhance local resources.
He indicated that import decisions are based on an integrated package of technical indicators, at the forefront of which is a study of the efficiency of surveillance and reporting systems, an assessment of the epidemiological situation, and the level of transparency in notification of cross-border diseases.
He pointed out that exporting countries are subjected to strict evaluations that include measuring the diagnostic capabilities of laboratories, the efficiency of veterinary services, and the extent of Full compliance with the standards approved by the World Organization for Animal Health.
Systematic evaluations
The Center confirmed that these systematic evaluations aim to reduce the risks of transmission of animal diseases that have a health and economic impact, in a way that supports the protection of livestock and maintains the stability of public health.
It pointed out that the continuous supervisory operations enhance the stability of food supply chains, by constantly updating the requirements in accordance with global epidemiological developments to ensure a safe and sustainable environment.
