المملكة: To meet the high demand, allowing the provision of private transportation services to others on a temporary basis


The Council issued The Administration of the General Authority for Transport issued an exceptional decision allowing establishments licensed for heavy transport to provide goods shipping services to others on a temporary basis, to meet the increasing demand and ensure Emergency regulatory direction to support the land transport sector.

Bridging the gap in supply chains

The Authority clarified that it allows service providers licensed in heavy transport activity for commercial purposes, which is allocated primarily “for the benefit of the facility”, to actually contract for the transport of goods that are not owned by them, in a strategic step aimed at bridging the gap in supply chains.

The official directives confirmed the continuation of this regulatory exception until the fourteenth of Rabi’ al-Akhir of the year 1448 AH, corresponding to For the twenty-fifth of September 2026 AD, with its full requirement for beneficiaries to issue an official transport document for each shipment.

Government communications indicated that this package of initiatives comes in an urgent response to the current conditions, and reflects the integration of efforts to support the private sector and raise the efficiency of utilizing licensed fleets to ensure continuity of logistical flow.
