Mendeleev International Chemistry Olympiad
The Mendeleev International Chemistry Olympiad is considered one of the most prestigious and powerful scientific competitions in the world in The field of chemistry, due to the advanced level of its questions and the precise competition mechanism.
The first edition was launched in 1967 in the city of Dnipropetrovsk as a Soviet competition, and is held in the Russian language, and is named after the Russian scientist Dimitri Mendeleev, the author of the periodic table of the elements.
6 students represent the Kingdom
The Kingdom is represented in this edition by 6 students from the secondary stage, who were qualified under the supervision of the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness And creativity "talent" In partnership with the Ministry of Education, they are: Ali Ahmed Bawazir from the Riyadh Education Department, Sarah Faisal Misfer Al-Raqib from the Taif Education Department, Saleh bin Mubarak Al-Harbi from the Royal Commission in Jubail, Abdulaziz Badr Al-Jaeed from the Medina Education Department, Mujtaba Abdul-Ilah Al-Tarouti from the Eastern Education Department, and Ali Salem Al-Yami from the Najran Education Department.
This participation comes as an extension of the Kingdom’s presence in this Olympics since 2013, The number of its participations reached 13 times, during which it achieved 28 international awards, including 3 silver medals and 23 bronze medals, which reflects the development of the level of Saudi students in international scientific competitions.
Participating students undergo intensive training programs throughout the year, including multiple stages of theoretical and practical scientific qualification, in addition to internal and external training camps, aiming to develop their skills in solving advanced chemical problems and enhancing their readiness to compete at the international level, including Contributes to representing the Kingdom in an honorable manner in international scientific forums.
