23 workers were killed and many injured in a fireworks factory explosion in India

23 workers were killed and others injured in the A fireworks factory in the Virudhunagar district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

According to Indian media, the explosion occurred last night in a factory in the village of Katnarpatti when workers were dealing with Chemical materialsused in fireworks.

Local officials stated that the explosion was most likely caused by the contact of chemicals, which led to the collapse of several roofs in the factory.
