Macron holds the American and Iranian sides jointly responsible for the Strait of Hormuz crisis

The French President denounced Emmanuel Macron, in what he considered a mistake on the part of the American and Iranian sides regarding the The Strait of Hormuz, the closure of which would lead to a rise in Oil prices, and called on everyone to return to calm.
He said Macron during a press conference in Gdansk, Poland, on Monday: "It seems that following the American decision to maintain the targeted blockade in Hormuz, especially regarding everything related to Iran, the Iranian authorities changed their basic position regarding reopening the Strait. I think it is a mistake on both sides."
Opening and re-closing the Strait
Iran announced the opening of the strategic sea lane on Friday, but retracted its decision on Saturday, which led to renewed tensions with the United States before the end of the ceasefire period.
Tehran pointed out that the continued American blockade of Iranian ports led to its resumption of tight control over the Strait.
