“Trakhees” carries out more than 16,000 inspection visits to industrial, commercial and health facilities

The Planning and Development Department – “Trakhees”, affiliated with the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, carried out 16,021 field inspection visits and 15,627 document review and audit missions during the year 2025, recording a compliance rate of 94.06% for industrial, commercial and public health facilities within its jurisdiction.

The implementation of these visits was part of a comprehensive periodic monitoring program that targeted a wide range of sectors, including manufacturing and industrial processing facilities, heavy manufacturing and assembly, facilities for manufacturing and storing chemicals and hazardous materials, industrial and service workshops, storage and logistics facilities, fuel, gas and energy facilities, in addition to hospitality and accommodation facilities, commercial and retail facilities, environmental services and waste management facilities, public health facilities related to personal care, health and hygiene, and health and medical services, in addition to labor housing and community and recreational facilities.

Engineer Abdullah Mohammed Belhoul, CEO of Trakhees, confirmed that these inspection visits reflect Trakhees’ commitment to applying the highest health and safety standards and ensuring a safe and sustainable work environment for all establishments within its jurisdiction.

He said: “The efforts of our field teams and specialists in environmental, health, safety and sustainability management contribute to enhancing compliance levels, reducing risks, and protecting lives and society, in a way that supports our strategy aimed at sustaining operations and providing quality services in accordance with best practices.”

He added: “We continue to work on developing an integrated control system based on international best practices, by intensifying field visits and enhancing evaluation and follow-up tools, which contributes to raising the readiness of establishments to comply with health and safety requirements. We are keen to build effective partnerships with various sectors, to ensure the application of the highest standards of prevention, establish a culture of commitment to health and safety, and promote a safe and sustainable business environment free of accidents, protect society, and preserve lives.”

The department explained that notices of violations were issued to non-compliant establishments, giving them specific time limits to correct their situation and provide the required responses in accordance with the approved regulatory framework, ensuring that risks are addressed and the necessary corrective measures are implemented to prevent their recurrence.
