"International Autism Conference"/ Emirati leadership in empowering people of determination

ABU DHABI, 25 April / WAM / The Fourth International Autism Conference 2026 was launched in Abu Dhabi today, with the participation of more than 3,000 specialists from more than 25 countries, in a step that reflects a firm commitment to developing an integrated and comprehensive system to empower people of determination, and to strengthen international efforts in the field of autism spectrum disorder.

The conference embodies an advanced Emirati vision based on innovation, employing artificial intelligence, and building qualitative international partnerships that contribute to improving services and care in accordance with international best practices.

The conference is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed Authority for People of Determination, and is organized by the Authority, in cooperation with the Lotus Holistic Group, the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, ADNOC, and the global “Skills4Mind” platform, and in strategic partnership with the Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi, the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, in addition to a wide network of international partners.

Since the launch of its first session in 2023, the International Autism Conference has witnessed rapid development, making it one of the most prominent global platforms specialized in the field of autism spectrum disorder. Through its successive sessions, it contributed to enhancing scientific knowledge, exchanging experiences, and building qualitative partnerships that contribute to developing services provided to individuals with autism and their families.

The first session formed the cornerstone of the conference’s journey, as it focused on building a scientific and societal platform that brings together specialists, researchers, decision-makers, and families, with the aim of discussing the latest developments in diagnosis and early intervention, in addition to raising community awareness about autism spectrum disorder.

This course contributed to consolidating the concept of integration between the health, educational and social sectors as a main basis for improving the quality of services.

As for the second session, it was an extension of the success achieved by the first session, with a clear expansion in international and specialized participation, during which the focus emerged on the concept of empowerment, whether for individuals with autism or their families, in addition to reviewing the applications of modern technology in the fields of rehabilitation and education.

This session also witnessed the launch of practical initiatives and partnerships aimed at transforming scientific recommendations into concrete implementation programs, reflecting the conference’s transition from theoretical proposal to practical impact.

In the third session, the conference reached a more mature and expanded stage, as it established its position as a prominent international event with the broad participation of experts and specialists from several countries.

This session was distinguished by presenting future topics related to artificial intelligence, evidence-based services, and innovation in diagnostic and rehabilitation methods, in addition to emphasizing the role of the family as a pivotal partner in the journey of support and empowerment.

The third session attracted more than 2,000 participants from 15 countries, confirming the growing international presence and consolidating the conference’s position as a global platform specialized in the field of autism.

Indicators of professional participation in the third session also showed a wide presence in the conference sessions, as it attracted more than 480 specialists in the education sector, more than 400 health care service providers, in addition to more than 380 therapists from different specialties, which enhances the multidisciplinary work approach in developing autism services.

The fourth session in 2026 in Abu Dhabi comes as a continuation of a well-established scientific and societal journey, with a more comprehensive approach towards building an integrated system that supports people with autism spectrum disorder and their families in accordance with best international practices.

This course focuses on expanding the use of artificial intelligence in diagnosis and rehabilitation, launching advanced training programs, and strengthening international partnerships, which contributes to the development of more efficient and sustainable services.

The organizing committee of the Fourth International Autism Conference 2026 confirmed that it constitutes a leading international platform for discussing autism spectrum disorder as a multidimensional challenge at the medical, educational and social levels, noting that the event aims to unify the efforts of experts from different disciplines to exchange knowledge, enhance scientific research, and support innovative solutions within six main axes that include artificial intelligence and innovation, scientific research, community integration, comprehensive work environments, excellence in health care, and developing inclusive education.

The committee explained that the UAE’s adoption of artificial intelligence and innovation within its national strategies reflects its awareness of the transformative potential of these technologies in developing autism care, by enabling personalized interventions and promoting inclusive environments that support individuals and enable them to thrive, pointing out that the conference is consistent with the declaration of 2026 as the “Year of the Family,” emphasizing the pivotal role of families in supporting individuals with autism.

The fourth session of the conference is expected to attract an elite group of international experts and speakers, and will also include the launch of specific initiatives and training programs, in addition to expanding the scope of the Innovation and Technical Solutions Exhibition.

The general path of the four sessions of the International Conference on Autism reflects its transition from a founding platform to an integrated international system that contributes to shaping the future of autism services, by combining scientific research, modern technologies, applied practices, and international partnerships, in a way that enhances the quality of life for individuals with autism spectrum disorder and their families around the world.
