المملكة: 100 competitors on the second day of the Custodian of the Two Holy Qur’an and Sunnah Competition in Dakar

The two arbitration panels completed their work in Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, with the participation of contestants representing (53) African countries, in the Senegalese capital, Dakar, where yesterday evening, Saturday, the hearing sessions for all participants, numbering (100) contestants, were concluded, with (70) contestants in the four branches of the Holy Qur’an, and (30) contestants in the three branches of the Prophet’s Sunnah.
In details, the arbitration committees listened to recitations over two days, Friday and Saturday. The contestants’ contributions, through four morning and evening judging sessions, reflected a high level of excellence and mastery, in light of strong competition between participants from various countries of the continent.
Distinguished Participations
The competition witnessed competition in two main branches; The first is specific to the Holy Qur’an, and includes four branches: memorizing the entire Holy Qur’an with the ten frequent recitations (narration and dirāya) with good performance, and memorizing the entire Qur’an with interpretation of the last ten parts, in addition to the branches of memorizing ten parts and three parts with Tajweed.
The second branch is specific to the Sunnah of the Prophet, and includes three branches in memorizing the complete summary of Sahih al-Bukhari or parts of it, taking care to translate the Companions, mention their virtues, and master the chapters.
The judging work highlighted the distinguished level of participants, which reflects the quality of the qualification programs in their countries, and the keenness of the concerned authorities to choose the best contestants to represent their countries in this competition, which is considered the largest on the level of the African continent in the field of memorizing the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet.
Honoring the winners
The closing ceremony to honor the winners will be held this Sunday evening, in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Latif bin Abdulaziz Al The Sheikh (virtually), and His Excellency the Minister of National Education of the Republic of Senegal, Mr. Mustapha Mamba Geraci, along with a number of political and Islamic leaders, and ambassadors of Arab and Islamic countries accredited to Senegal.
The ceremony also witnesses wide media participation, as more than (30) satellite channels broadcast the events of this major international event, which represents the largest gathering of memorizers of revelations on the continent of Africa, in a scene that embodies the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s interest in serving the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah. It is worth noting that the closing ceremony will witness honoring the winners of the competition prizes, which total more than (2,100,000) riyals, in recognition of their excellence in memorizing the Holy Qur’an and the Prophet’s Sunnah, and to motivate them to continue excellence and mastery in serving the two revelations, in line with the amount of support and support provided by the Kingdom to consolidate the values and principles of the Holy Qur’an and the Prophet’s Sunnah in Souls of Muslim children.
