Trump receives him… King Charles begins a state visit to the United States

King Charles III and Queen Camilla to Trump, in light of diplomatic tension against the backdrop of the war on Iran.
The plane carrying the royal duo landed at Andrews Air Force Base near Washington, before Charles and Camilla disembarked and an official reception was held for them.
A Buckingham Palace spokesman confirmed on Sunday, after an armed man attempted to storm a dinner for White House reporters, that the visit would go ahead as planned.

Trump praises King Charles

In an interview with Fox News on Sunday, he said Trump on King Charles III: "He is a great man, very brave, and represents his country well"
The King expressed great satisfaction that Trump, his wife Melania, and the other guests were not exposed to any harm.
The British Ambassador to the United States, Christian Turner, indicated that Trump is very excited about this visit, in which he reciprocates the warm reception he received in the United Kingdom last year.

Visit Program

The program includes Trump and Melania hosting the royal visitors for tea, followed by a tour to see the beehives in the White House.
/>Tuesday’s programme, the most official day of the day, begins with a military reception, with Trump and King Charles III holding a meeting in the Oval Office, while their wives participate in an event centered on education and artificial intelligence.
On the same day, the British king is supposed to deliver a speech before the US Congress, which will be the first since Queen Elizabeth II’s speech in 1991, with the aim of calming the current diplomatic tensions by addressing the historical relationship extending over two and a half centuries, with all its vicissitudes, between the United Kingdom and its former colony.
/>The two officials and their wives will have dinner in the evening in a reception hall in the White House, instead of a large pavilion in the gardens usually used for such occasions.
After a visit to New York on Wednesday, the King and Queen will visit the memorial to the victims of September 11, 2001, and will meet Trump and his wife for the last time on Thursday before their return to Britain.

Not an easy task

King Charles III will strive to avoid the tension between London and Washington casting a shadow over the atmosphere. The visit was carefully organized, but his task will not be easy.
He must avoid fueling widespread criticism in the United Kingdom for this visit, which does not enjoy popular consensus, and not give the impression that it is an attempt to appease Trump.
The king also has an implicit task, which is to win over the American president who is dissatisfied with several matters, the most important of which is the reservations of the Labor government in Britain about the war that the United States and Israel launched against Iran in February.
In addition to attacking Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Trump disturbed the special relationship with Britain by criticizing the British army and navy, and he also belittled the sacrifices made by the British when they fought alongside the Americans in Afghanistan.
