" Finance" Reviews with investors the business climate and the efficiency of regulatory frameworks

Dubai, April 29 / WAM / The Ministry of Finance held an extensive meeting with investors, during which it reviewed the most prominent developments related to the financial framework and public debt management strategy of the federal government, in a strategic step that reflects the government’s commitment to enhancing transparency in communication and consolidating institutional dialogue with participants in the financial markets, in a way that supports confidence in the sovereign creditworthiness of the UAE, and enhances the efficiency of its presence in the local and international financial markets, within the framework of the investor relations strategy pursued by the government, in a way that supports open and continuous dialogue with the financial community.

The meeting, which was held at Nasdaq Dubai on the sidelines of the Annual Capital Markets Day event, was attended by His Excellency Younis Haji Al Khouri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, and His Excellency Ali Abdullah Sharafi, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance for International Financial Relations, with the participation of an elite group of representatives of local and international banks, institutional investors, asset managers, and pension funds, along with a number of prominent stakeholders in the capital markets.

Al-Khouri stressed that the Ministry of Finance is keen to enhance direct communication with participants in the financial markets, and to listen to their visions and aspirations, in a way that supports building regular and effective channels of dialogue with the financial community, pointing out that the meeting with investors represents an important opportunity to review developments related to the national economy, the financial framework, and public debt programs, in a clear and organized manner, in a way that enhances the ability of investors and financial institutions to develop a deeper understanding of the components of the UAE’s sovereign creditworthiness, and its financial priorities during the next stage.

He pointed out that dialogue with investors constitutes an essential pillar in developing the public debt management system, as their comments and inquiries contribute to enhancing the quality of communication, clarifying relevant information, and supporting the efficiency of markets, in line with global best practices in investor relations and sovereign debt management.

He continued: We view these meetings as an opportunity to exchange visions, enhance confidence, and establish transparency with banks, investors and financial institutions, in a way that supports building long-term relationships and enhances the UAE’s presence in the local and international capital markets.

During the meeting, financial and economic developments were reviewed, and the most prominent topics related to sovereign creditworthiness and public debt programs were discussed. Participants were briefed on the most prominent developments in the financial and credit situation of the UAE, and the public debt management strategy, while highlighting the ability of the UAE economy to face global and regional challenges, and the continuation of the growth path supported by solid financial policies and strong reserves.

The participants praised the holding of such meetings and the Ministry of Finance’s keenness to strengthen institutional dialogue with the financial community, pointing out that they contribute to consolidating transparency, enhancing clarity of vision, and supporting confidence in the country’s credit status, which in turn is reflected in maintaining confidence in the business climate in the country, with its stability, competitiveness and efficiency in regulatory frameworks, and supports building long-term partnerships with investors and financial institutions.
