By phone: Putin and Trump discuss the situation in the Middle East

Russian President Vladimir Putincontacted by phone with his American counterpart, Donald Trump, according to his diplomatic advisor, Yuri Ushakov, who indicated that the two presidents focused mainly on the war in the Middle East.

Ushakov said, "The two presidents paid special attention to the situation related to Iran and the Gulf".

He added that "Putin considers Trump’s decision to extend the ceasefire with Iran a right decision, as it would provide an opportunity for negotiations and generally help stabilize the situation.".
