المملكة: Saudi Arabia confirms its continued support for the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Center

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia affirmed its commitment to supporting the efforts of the United Nations in Combat terrorism, as a direct threat to international peace and security.
This came in a speech by the Kingdom’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Muhammad Al-Wasil, during a meeting at the ambassadorial level, held within the framework of the initiative "UN80" To review the capabilities and status of the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism, in which he indicated the Kingdom’s continued support for the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Center since its establishment in 2011, as the founding donor and chair of its advisory board.
Confronting emerging threats
The Kingdom stressed within the framework of the initiative "UN80"The Kingdom stressed the importance of preserving the capabilities and status of the United Nations Office for Counter-Terrorism, and strengthening its support with sustainable resources, stressing the need to confront emerging threats, especially terrorist groups’ exploitation of artificial intelligence and digital platforms for recruitment, financing and propaganda.
The Kingdom indicated that Africa is still the most affected by terrorism, which requires an effective international partnership and a coordinated response that takes into account the priorities of countries, while condemning the terrorist attacks witnessed by the Republic of Mali, including the capital, Bamako.
