"Crescent" Provides $300,000 in support to "Center for Cardiac Surgery" In Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa, 2 May / WAM / The Emirates Red Crescent announced the provision of financial assistance worth $300,000 in support of the Cardiac Surgery Center in Addis Ababa to enhance its efforts in the field of medical care and performing surgical operations for children in Ethiopia.
The financial assistance was announced – on the sidelines of the Zayed Charity Race scheduled for tomorrow in Addis Ababa – during an official visit made to the center’s headquarters in the center of the capital today by a delegation that included His Excellency Mohammed Salem Al Rashidi, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Ethiopia, Lieutenant General (M) Mohammed Hilal Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee of the Zayed Charity Race, and His Excellency Ahmed Sari Al Mazrouei, Secretary-General of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority.
Al Mazrouei said that the financial support for the center enhances its great efforts in treating children, and contributes to achieving the mission of the charitable race in accordance with the legacy and values of the late founding father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul. He pointed out that this step confirms the authority’s commitment to strengthening health care initiatives, especially in the field of treating heart diseases in children, in a way that contributes to improving the quality of life for the most needy groups, to consolidate the vision of the wise leadership in building a healthier and more compassionate world. And cohesion.
In turn, Heroy Ali Endres, CEO of the Center, extended his deepest thanks and appreciation to the UAE, represented by the Red Crescent Authority, for this support and described it as an important step that would contribute to advancing the Center’s efforts to treat sick children and provide them with the required health care, to give them a better healthy life.
He added that the center has received about 24,000 patients since its opening, and performs surgical operations on children and adults. It also receives patients from neighboring countries and has between 30 and 40 patients per day, in addition to a number of those waiting on registration lists.
