Dubai Police Search and Rescue carried out 1,844 missions during the first quarter
Dubai, 3 May / WAM / The General Department of Transport and Rescue of Dubai Police carried out 1,844 missions during the first quarter of the year 2026, within an integrated work system to enhance public safety and rapid response to accidents and emergencies, reflecting the readiness of its field teams and their professional competence.
His Excellency Major General Rashid Khalifa bin Darwish Al Falasi, Director of the Department, confirmed that these results come within the framework of the continuous directives of His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, and within efforts that support the strategic directions to enhance security and safety and improve the quality of life in the emirate.
He noted the administration’s keenness to develop its operational capabilities and enhance its readiness in accordance with international best practices, by investing in human resources and modern technologies, and integrating efforts with partners to provide proactive and effective services.
He pointed out that the number of missions carried out reflects the full readiness of search and rescue teams and their ability to deal with reports efficiently and quickly, ensuring a reduction in response time and the protection of lives and property.
For his part, Colonel Khaled Ibrahim, Director of the Search and Rescue Department, explained that the teams dealt with 1,844 missions, including 96 accidents, 105 transport missions, 8 rescue operations for vehicles stuck in the sand, 675 missions of transporting vehicles outside the street lanes, 288 missions of opening closed doors, in addition to 6 training scenarios, 237 missions of securing events, and 31 other missions.
He stressed that Dubai Police pays attention to qualifying human cadres through advanced training programs that simulate various types of accidents, which contributes to raising readiness and enhancing skills for dealing with critical cases.
He pointed out that the implementation of the training scenarios comes within a plan to test the efficiency of the teams and the readiness of the equipment, and to ensure rapid decision-making in emergency situations, stressing the continued development of the operational system in a way that enhances Dubai Police’s global leadership in the fields of security, safety and rescue.
