"balance" Enhances the competitiveness of the UAE defense sector "Saha Expo 2026"
ABU DHABI, 4th May / WAM / The Tawazun Defense Empowerment Council continues its role in empowering and developing the defense industry system in the UAE through official representation in the fifth edition of the “SAHA Expo”, which will be held from May 5-9, 2026 at the Istanbul Exhibition Center in the Republic of Turkey.
Saha Expo is one of the most prominent international events specialized in the defense, aviation and space industries, as it showcases the latest military technologies, drones, and smart defense systems, with the participation of thousands of international companies. It also constitutes a leading international platform that brings together an elite group of companies and decision makers, and provides opportunities to exchange experiences and explore areas of cooperation in advanced technologies and defense manufacturing.
The UAE’s participation in SAHA Expo 2026 comes as part of a national trend to enhance the presence of UAE companies in international forums and consolidate its position as a reliable partner in the global defense industries system.
During its presence, the Tawazun Defense Empowerment Council will focus on activating the process of bilateral meetings with international defense companies and institutions, to discuss opportunities for cooperation in the fields of joint manufacturing, technology transfer, and developing defense supply chains, in addition to highlighting the UAE’s advanced industrial capabilities and highlighting the national competencies and cadres working in the defense industries sector.
The Tawazun Defense Empowerment Council, in cooperation with the UAE Ministry of Defence, supports this participation by empowering national companies and unifying their presence under a unified national pavilion, organized by the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC), as part of the Council’s efforts aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of national companies, expanding their presence in international markets, and building strategic partnerships in the fields of defense industries and advanced technology, in a way that supports the country’s directions towards developing a sustainable defense industrial base based on innovation.
The UAE National Pavilion delegation is headed by His Excellency Dr. Nasser Hamid Al Nuaimi, Secretary-General of the Tawazun Council for Defense Empowerment, and includes His Excellency Ahmed Ali Al Harmoudi, Director General of the Directorate of Industrial Innovation and Artificial Intelligence, and His Excellency Khalifa Iyada Al Hameli, Head of the Strategy and Executive Affairs Sector, embodying the integration of roles between the various sectors to support the Council’s strategic goals.
Al Nuaimi said: “International exhibitions specialized in the defense and security sectors constitute strategic platforms for highlighting the industrial and technological capabilities of countries, and highlighting the latest innovations, in addition to their pivotal role in building partnerships and expanding the scope of cooperation across global value chains.
The Tawazun Defense Empowerment Council plays a pivotal role in employing these platforms to serve the goals of developing the sector, by empowering national companies, enhancing their readiness to engage in qualitative partnerships, and consolidating their presence within the global defense industry system.
He added: In this context, the strategic partnership between the UAE and the Republic of Turkey has emerged, especially since the year 2023, as it has emerged as an advanced model of cooperation based on industrial and technological integration, through the signing of agreements and memorandums of understanding that enhanced the opportunities for developing joint projects in the fields of defense manufacturing and advanced technologies. The Tawazun Defense Empowerment Council continues its role in translating these trends into implementation paths, by empowering national companies, linking them to qualitative opportunities, and enhancing their integration into global industrial systems, in a way that supports the sector’s competitiveness and enhances the state’s strategic independence.”
