"source" More than 500 million dirhams will be directed locally during 2025 to support the national economy

Abu Dhabi, 6 May / WAM / Abdullah Salem Al Kiyoumi, Managing Director of Specialized Technical Services at Masdar, confirmed that the company continues to consolidate its global leadership through a portfolio of projects spread around the world with a production capacity exceeding 65 gigawatts, and with capital investments exceeding 45 billion dollars, with ambitious plans to reach 100 gigawatts by 2030.
Al Kiyoumi said, in statements to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), on the sidelines of Masdar’s participation in the “Make in the UAE 2026” platform, that strengthening the national content program constitutes a fundamental pillar of the company’s mission, and reflects its commitment to contributing to supporting sustainable economic development, in line with the vision of the wise leadership, which has given the industrial sector great importance to its vital role in promoting national content and stimulating various industries and supporting them with energy.
He added that “Masdar” contributed to supporting the national economy through local directives exceeding 500 million dirhams during the past year within the supply chains, which enhances the added value within the country and supports local suppliers.
Al Kiyoumi explained that the company is keen to contribute effectively to consolidating local supply chains and empowering national competencies, noting that its investments within the country exceeded 20 billion dirhams during the year 2025, while its network includes more than 400 registered local suppliers, as part of continuing to invest in the future by supporting and empowering national companies in a way that contributes to achieving sustainable economic growth.
He pointed out that the total capacity of Masdar’s projects under operation and development in the UAE currently amounts to about 15 gigawatts, which reflects the company’s pivotal role in supporting national industries and enhancing the strength of the UAE economy.
He stressed that Masdar will continue to play a major role in developing the renewable energy system in the coming years, in light of the rapid growth of the clean energy sector and plans to expand renewable energy projects inside and outside the country.
Al-Kiyoumi explained that Masdar, during its participation in “Make in the UAE 2026,” will showcase its role in creating a qualitative shift in the global energy sector, in addition to highlighting its current and future projects.
