Saeed Al Hajri: The UAE has established itself as an attractive destination for quality investments in pharmaceutical manufacturing

Abu Dhabi, 6 May / WAM / His Excellency Saeed bin Mubarak Al Hajri, Minister of State and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Pharmaceutical Corporation, said that the attractiveness of the pharmaceutical sector in the UAE is based on a regulatory system characterized by flexibility, clarity, legislative stability and speed of procedures, in addition to an advanced infrastructure that includes specialized industrial zones, highly efficient logistical networks, and a geographical location linking the Asian, African and European markets.
His Excellency added in statements to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, on the sidelines of the “Make in the UAE 2026” platform, that these factors together contribute to creating an investment environment capable of attracting international companies, especially in the fields of advanced manufacturing and pharmaceutical technologies, in a way that supports expanding the industrial base and increasing investment flows.
His Excellency pointed out that the UAE is distinguished by its ability to provide an integrated model that combines the efficiency of the organizational structure, the speed of procedures, and the integration of the industrial and logistical infrastructure, in addition to a strategic location linking major global markets, noting that the most important factor is the level of confidence in the regulatory system and regulatory transparency, which makes it an environment capable of attracting long-term manufacturing decisions and research and development projects, and not just short-term operational investments.
His Excellency stressed that the presence of regulatory policies for the pharmaceutical industries plays a major role in attracting foreign investments and strengthening the pharmaceutical industries in the country through an integrated approach based on diversifying sources of supply, expanding the local production base and building a strategic stock that supports continuity of availability.
He pointed out that regulatory frameworks contribute to accelerating drug registration procedures and facilitating the entry of products into the market in a way that ensures rapid response to demand, increases the flexibility of supply chains, enhances market stability, and provides medicines in a sustainable manner in various circumstances.
His Excellency said that the participation of the Emirates Pharmaceutical Corporation in “Make in the UAE 2026” represents an extension of a strategic direction that focuses on moving the UAE from a consumer market position to a regional and global center for advanced pharmaceutical production and its associated supply chains.
He added that this appears through expanding the scope of industrial partnerships, attracting technologies related to high-value manufacturing, and linking national capabilities to global supply chains, which reflects the country’s ability to combine advanced organization and industrial structure.
His Excellency explained that this integration creates a reliable investment environment capable of attracting international companies and redirecting their investments towards the region, which enhances the country’s presence as a major hub in the pharmaceutical industry regionally and internationally.
He pointed out that national companies play a pivotal role in expanding production capacity and localizing pharmaceutical industries, especially in the fields of human, veterinary and agricultural medicines and related products, thus enhancing reliance on local capabilities.
