المملكة: It starts with 387 trainees… Technical training launches a specialization "Robotics and artificial intelligence"


The public institution opened For technical and vocational training, with the beginning of the current training year 1447 AH (corresponding to the last half of 2025), specialization "Bots and Artificial Intelligence" Within the Department of Electronic Technology in the Technical Colleges Diploma Program, the total number of trainees accepted in the first stage reached 387 trainees.
The Deputy Governor for Training, Dr., explained. Adel bin Hamad Al-Zunaidi said that the inclusion of this specialization aims to prepare qualified national cadres capable of designing, developing, maintaining and operating smart systems, and employing machine learning techniques and robotics in various vital sectors, which contributes to raising production efficiency and improving the quality of life, especially with the rapid expansion of the uses of artificial intelligence in the fields of industry and services, and the qualitative and sustainable job opportunities this provides for Saudi youth.

The Year of Artificial Intelligence

Al-Zunaidi stressed that the start of training in this specialization comes Coinciding with the Cabinet’s decision to adopt the designation in 2026 "General Artificial Intelligence"This reflects the Foundation’s keenness to keep pace with the national movement to support innovation and enhance the Kingdom’s position as a global center for data and smart technologies.
He stated that this trend embodies the Foundation’s leadership in aligning its outputs with the renewed needs of the business sector, and the compatibility of its plans with Vision 2030 that seeks to build a vibrant, knowledge-based economy.

Developing the training plan

The specialization of robotics and artificial intelligence technology was launched as a first stage in 3 colleges, namely: the Applied Technical College in Abha, And the Applied Technical College in Riyadh, and the Technical College of Communications and Information in Jeddah.
The General Administration of Curricula worked to develop the training plan according to the highest standards, with plans to expand in the future by launching advanced training tracks that cover precise specializations in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
