50 competitors in the opening of the Emirates Athletics Cup

Dubai, May 7 / WAM / The Emirates Athletics Cup competitions for all age levels in the male and female categories will begin tomorrow at the Dubai Police Officers Club track during the days of May 8, 9 and 10.
The championship, organized by the Emirates Athletics Federation, will witness the holding of 50 diverse competitions on its first day, including races in the 3,000 and 5,000 meter walk, and the 80, 100, 150, 200, 400, 600, 800, 1,000, 1,500, and 3,000 meter races, in addition to the 400 meter hurdles and 2,000 meter steeplechase races, for the junior, junior, and youth categories under 16. 18 and 20 years old, and the general category.
It also includes field competitions, including the long, triple, and high jump, in addition to the javelin throw, hammer throw, shot put, and discus throw.
The organizing committee confirmed the completion of the technical and administrative arrangements for the tournament and that the number of participants had reached 560 male and female players, in one of the largest tournaments of the local season in terms of the number of competitors and participants.
Rashid Nasser Al Ali, a member of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Athletics Federation and Chairman of the National Teams Committee, said that the tournament at the end of the current season is an important stage to evaluate the levels of male and female players before the upcoming external competitions, at the regional and continental levels.
