The weightlifting team participates in "Asian India"

Dubai, May 8 / WAM / The UAE Weightlifting Federation announced the participation of our national team in the Asian Championships scheduled in Ahmedabad, India, which begins tomorrow and continues until May 17.

The Federation explained, in a statement, that the delegation will leave tomorrow, headed by Sheikha Al Kaabi, a member of the Board of Directors, and Rashid Khalaf Al Mazrouei, a member of the Federation’s Board of Directors, administratively, and includes 3 male and female players: Moayed Al Najjar, Zahra Al Hashemi, Izz Al Din Al Ghafeer, and Issa Rajab Al Balushi.

Sheikha Al Kaabi confirmed that the team is fully prepared to participate in the tournament and compete for the best results, after gradual stages of preparation in the past period, with great confidence in the team’s champions to take on the new continental challenge, show advanced levels, and record new numbers, to reach the first positions, and keep up with the team’s ambitions to compete for achievements, especially since the tournament is an important station before the team’s upcoming international matches.

In turn, Engineer Issa Omair Al Mansouri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Weightlifting Club, expressed his confidence in the club’s players in the ranks of our national team, Moayad Al-Najjar, Ezz Al-Din Al-Ghafeer and Zahra Al-Hashemi, to achieve new achievements, indicating that the event represents qualitative importance before the start of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic qualifiers, with the world championship in China next December.
