Abu Dhabi launches a premium food brand to enhance the quality of poultry products

ABU DHABI, 8th May / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority, launched the “Premium Mark” for locally produced chilled chicken meat products, during its participation in the “Made in the Emirates 2026” exhibition, as part of the healthy living strategy aimed at enhancing the quality of food products and raising the competitiveness of the food sector in Abu Dhabi and the UAE.
The launch of the brand comes within an integrated program to develop an advanced conformity system for chilled chicken meat products, according to precise technical standards covering the stages of breeding, feeding, slaughtering, processing, packaging and distribution, in addition to requirements that include animal welfare, sustainability and quality of the final product, with the implementation of a classification system for approved products that enhances consumer confidence and supports healthy and safe options, in cooperation with regulatory authorities and the private sector, through evaluation mechanisms, conformity certificates and control plans that ensure the sustainability of quality.
His Excellency Engineer Badr Al-Shamili, Executive Director of the Conformity and Specifications Sector, confirmed that the program constitutes a qualitative leap in the development of food quality standards and reflects Abu Dhabi’s commitment to the best international practices, which enhances consumer confidence, supports the local product, stimulates innovation and quality of production, in addition to empowering the poultry sector, raising the efficiency of supply chains, and enhancing the added economic value in line with the country’s trends towards food sustainability and the development of vital sectors.
For his part, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Al Khazraji, Executive Director of the Healthy Living Sector, said that the initiative comes within joint efforts to strengthen the food system and enable the consumer to make healthy and conscious choices, noting that the distinguished food brand contributes to raising production standards, establishing food sufficiency and security, and enhancing consumer confidence in high-quality products manufactured in the Emirates.
For his part, Dr. Al Sayed Essam Al Hashemi, Acting Executive Director of the Development and Innovation Sector at the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority, stressed that the launch of the distinguished food mark constitutes a strategic pillar to consolidate Abu Dhabi’s position as a global center for food security, explaining that the mark represents an empowerment tool for local poultry producers through precise standards that include quality, animal welfare and sustainability, in a way that enhances consumer confidence in the national product.
He pointed out that the initiative embodies cooperation between the Authority, the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council, and the Healthy Lifestyle Unit to develop a sustainable and innovative food production system, based on standards that exceed traditional requirements and enhance the competitiveness of national industries, pointing out that the program provides an integrated framework for improving performance across the entire food value chain, starting from education and nutrition all the way to packaging and distribution, in a way that supports innovation, raises the efficiency of local production, sustains the sector, and achieves a long-term economic impact.
