"Abu Dhabi Transport" Reviews the system "Fusion 2.0" Intelligent transportation in "Addis 2026"

ABU DHABI, 13th May, 2020 (WAM) – The Integrated Transport Center “Abu Dhabi Transport” of the Department of Municipalities and Transport – Abu Dhabi, during its participation in the second edition of the Abu Dhabi Infrastructure Summit “Addis 2026”, is showcasing the developed version of the “Fusion 2.0” system within the comprehensive analysis system “STEAM+”, in a step that embodies the emirate’s trends towards employing artificial intelligence and big data to enhance the efficiency of the transport system and anticipate future mobility needs.

Arwa Bin Ishaq, Director of Modeling and Analysis at Abu Dhabi Transport, told the Emirates News Agency, WAM, that the new system relies on harnessing artificial intelligence techniques to analyze big data related to the transportation sector, allowing an accurate understanding of the needs of the current transportation network and the existing challenges, in addition to predicting future challenges and developing strategies, plans, and solutions that support the development process in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

She explained that the system contributed to integrating the centre’s various large databases into an integrated analytical platform, which made it possible to understand the mobility patterns and needs of various segments of society, thus supporting the formulation of more comprehensive and efficient transport policies and strategies that meet the needs of the emirate’s residents and visitors.

She pointed out that the system enhanced the effectiveness of operational systems, and raised the accuracy of results and the quality of analytical outputs, which allowed the preparation of a comprehensive and clear plan for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi based on an accurate reading of current and expected needs in the future, in conjunction with rapid urban and population growth and increased demand for transportation services.

She added that the plans and strategies developed aim to support the economy and enhance the quality of life in Abu Dhabi, by providing an integrated transportation system that ensures easy access and diversity of transportation options to meet the daily needs of residents in their movement between places of residence, work, commercial and social facilities, and various destinations.

The Director of Modeling and Analysis at Abu Dhabi Transport confirmed that the strategic goal is to provide a smooth, safe and flexible transportation experience for all users of the road network and means of transportation in the emirate, noting that the various plans and policies being implemented are based on meeting the basic needs of the population and enhancing the efficiency of the transportation infrastructure in line with Abu Dhabi’s future aspirations.
