The Community Basketball Championship begins tomorrow with the participation of 12 teams

Dubai, May 14 / WAM / The Community Basketball Championship competitions, organized by the Emirates Committee for Nurturing Sports Talents and Supporting National Sports (UAETSS), will begin tomorrow, under the auspices of the Ministry of Sports, and in cooperation with the “Champs” Academy, the Dubai Sports Council, and the Emirates Basketball Federation, at “Champs Plaza” in Dubai, and will continue until next June 12.

The tournament will witness the participation of 12 teams representing a number of communities residing in the country, including Canada, the United States of America, Senegal, Lebanon, the Philippines, Uzbekistan, Syria, Palestine, China, Turkey, Spain, and Egypt, in a sporting event that embodies the cultural diversity that the UAE embraces, and promotes the values ​​of coexistence and rapprochement between different nationalities through sports.

The organizing committee allocated financial prizes worth 50,000 dirhams to the winners, in addition to another 50,000 dirhams allocated to the fans through raffles and accompanying interactive events, in a step aimed at enhancing public attendance and transforming the tournament into an integrated community sports festival.

The tournament includes a program full of entertainment activities and events for families and audiences, which contributes to spreading the culture of practicing sports and enhancing community interaction.

The tournament is part of the efforts aimed at expanding the base of basketball practice in the country, and attracting various segments of society to participate in sports activities, in line with the country’s trends in supporting community sports and enhancing the quality of life.
