المملكة: Hajj season 1447 AH.. launching an initiative "Road tent" To serve the guests of God

Launched General Authority of Roads initiative "Road tent" In its second season, on the migration route, the link between Makkah al-Mukarramahand Medina, as part of its efforts to provide a safe and comfortable environment for serving Guests of Godduring their journey to move between the holy sites.

She explained "Roads Authority" The initiative aims to improve the experience of pilgrims and Umrah pilgrims by establishing an air-conditioned tent equipped with all amenities, including the provision of snacks and cold drinks in partnership with SASCO, in addition to providing awareness and guidance materials related to traffic safety instructions.

This step comes within the framework of a series of initiatives implemented by the Authority to develop the infrastructure of the road network and improve its operational efficiency, by providing equipped rest houses that enhance the quality of transportation between Mecca and Medina.

Road Quality Index

Through this initiative, the Authority confirmed its commitment to achieving the objectives of the road sector programme, which is to reach the sixth global ranking in the Road Quality Index by 2030, and to reduce the road death rate to less than 5 cases per 100,000 people, in addition to covering the road network with traffic safety standards according to the classification of the International Road Evaluation Program and raising its carrying capacity.

These efforts are based on the Kingdom’s position, which ranks first in the world in The road network is connected, which supports the flow of traffic and ensures safe and comfortable transportation for the pilgrims during the Hajj season.
