This year’s symposium comes to confirm its position as a space for integration between legal rooting and organizational and operational work, through scientific sessions and specialized workshops that discuss developing services, raising readiness, and enhancing the quality of the pilgrim’s experience in line with the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

Supporting wise leadership

Al-Nawaimi explained that the major Hajj symposium represents an intellectual platform. It is a pioneering scientific initiative that enjoys the support of the wise leadership and continuous follow-up by the Minister of Hajj and Umrah Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, pointing out that the symposium over five decades has contributed to discussing various issues related to Hajj, starting from the jurisprudence of facilitation and awareness, all the way to the development of operational and organizational procedures that have become part of the field work system.

He indicated that the symposium is no longer just an intellectual forum, but has become part of the actual preparations for the Hajj season, through workshops and training programmes. And qualification for workers in the sector, in addition to enhancing integration between the legal and regulatory aspects through partnership with the Council of Senior Scholars, which was reflected in the quality of the scientific and practical content of the symposium.

He pointed out that the work of the fiftieth edition was launched amid a qualitative presence of specialists and interested parties, expecting its outputs to contribute to supporting the Hajj and Umrah system and developing the services provided to pilgrims of the Holy House of God.

With regard to the Ministry’s preparations for the Hajj and Umrah Season. Hajj this year, Al-Nuwaimi explained that work for the new season begins immediately after the end of the previous season, indicating that the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah is accustomed, under the guidance of the Minister, to begin preparing for the next season starting on the twelfth of Dhu al-Hijjah.

He added that the first steps of preparation begin with holding the season’s closing ceremony with the Hajj affairs offices, and handing over the preliminary arrangements document that includes all requirements related to the next season, including contracts for aviation, housing, and subsistence. And hospitality, in addition to coordination with local and international carriers to transport pilgrims from various countries of the world to the Kingdom.

He stressed that early preparation represents one of the most important factors for the success of the Hajj season, pointing out that the work is being carried out through an integrated system led by the Supreme Hajj Committee headed by His Royal Highness the Minister of the Interior, and from which emerges a number of central and executive committees that work according to joint plans to ensure early readiness and coordination between all concerned parties.

Al-Nuaimi stressed that the integration between The intellectual, organizational and executive efforts reflect the Kingdom’s continued commitment to developing the Hajj and Umrah system, in order to achieve the highest levels of service and comfort for the guests of God, and enable them to perform their rituals with ease and reassurance.
