المملكة: urgent "commerce" Ends delivery chaos.. No secret code before inspecting the shipment

The Ministry of Commerce obligated Delivery companies by enabling consumers to open shipments and inspect their contents before handing over the receipt confirmation code to the delivery representative, in a proactive regulatory step to protect the rights of shoppers and avoid receiving Damaged products.

The new regulation categorically prohibits obliging the customer to hand over the secret code for completing the delivery process, unless he is given the full right to open the package and verify the integrity and conformity of the purchased products.

The chambers of commerce, led by the Asharqia Chamber, took the initiative to immediately circulate this decision to all its subscribers from companies and institutions operating in the Logistics transportation and trade, based on an official letter from the Union of Saudi Chambers to activate the procedure without delay.

The Ministry of Commerce pointed out that this directive aims to reduce the problems associated with receiving wrong or damaged goods, which contributes to raising the levels of transparency and reliability in e-commerce transactions in the Kingdom.

The Ministry stressed to the business sector and logistical transport companies the necessity of immediately updating their delivery policies, and educating delivery representatives to fully adhere to the new mechanism to ensure that consumers’ rights are not violated and a safe and fair shopping experience is achieved.
