Graduation and international accreditation of 22 specialized national trainers in cooperation with "UNICRI"

Turin, 22nd May / WAM / The State Public Prosecution concluded the fifth and final phase of the regional program specialized in criminal investigations related to chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear materials (CBRN), which was held in the city of Turin in the Italian Republic, in cooperation with the United Nations Regional Institute for Crime and Justice Research (UNICRI), and with the participation of an elite group of relevant federal and local national authorities.
This comes within the framework of the UAE’s strategic directions aimed at enhancing judicial and security preparedness, and establishing an advanced proactive system to deal with threats and crimes related to dangerous materials.
The final stage witnessed the graduation and accreditation of “22” specialized national trainers, representing “13” national bodies, as internationally accredited trainers in the field of criminal investigations related to chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear crimes (CBRN), which contributes to building a sustainable national base of specialized expertise, and enhancing the integration of national preparedness and institutional response in accordance with the highest international standards and practices.
The program included the implementation of a series of advanced training sessions and specialized applied exercises, focusing on modern training methodologies, professional facilitation methods, designing training programs, and managing cognitive interaction, in addition to practical evaluations to accredit the participants as certified trainers in accordance with United Nations standards.
Fatima Al-Karbi, Project Director of the Hazardous Materials Crime Investigation Program, confirmed that the fifth phase represents a strategic station in the program’s path, as it moved from the stage of building specialized knowledge to the stage of empowering national competencies to lead training and transfer expertise within a sustainable institutional framework that enhances the state’s readiness and establishes the sustainability of specialized knowledge in this vital field.
She added that the program constitutes one of the foundations supporting the development of the “Unified National Guide for Responding to Hazardous Material Incidents and Crimes,” by qualifying a specialized elite of trainers and experts at the national level, which contributes to unifying concepts and procedures, raising the efficiency of the national response, and enhancing institutional integration in managing incidents and crimes of a non-traditional nature.
The State Public Prosecution indicated that the next phase will witness work on developing a specialized national system for training and knowledge in the field of investigations related to dangerous materials crimes, in addition to expanding the scope of technical and international partnerships, in a way that enhances the readiness of the competent authorities, and supports the pioneering role of the UAE regionally and internationally in the fields of specialized criminal justice, preventive security, and advanced response to future threats.
The program comes within a strategic vision adopted by the State Public Prosecution to develop an advanced national system to deal with crimes and threats related to dangerous materials, in accordance with the highest international standards, in a way that supports the national security system and enhances the UAE’s position as a leading global model in developing specialized criminal justice systems and advanced institutional readiness.
