المملكة: Urgent – Under the directives of the leadership.. the Kingdom provides urgent support to Yemen with oil derivatives worth $150 million


Under the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister – may God protect them -, and with the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Defense, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen, provided urgent support to Yemen with oil derivatives worth $150 million, to cover the needs of operating diesel and diesel power stations in various governorates. Yemen.
This support comes as an extension of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s established approach to supporting the sisterly Republic of Yemen, supporting the Yemeni people, and alleviating their human suffering, especially in light of the rising temperatures, which contributes to the stability of electricity services and the continuity of their operation, supporting the vital and service sectors related to electric energy, and enhancing the elements of development and stability in Yemen.
The support also came as an extension of the Kingdom’s continued support for the brotherly Yemeni people and granting oil derivatives, to operate more than 70 power stations in various Yemeni governorates, where the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen provided grants for oil derivatives in 2018 AD worth $180 million, and a grant in 2021 AD worth $422 million, in addition to a grant in 2022 AD worth $200 million, and a grant in 2026 AD worth $81.2 million.
Granting oil derivatives played an important role. It contributed to the stability of the energy sector and the continued operation of vital and service facilities, and contributed to enhancing the efficiency of government institutions, stimulating the Yemeni economy, and improving daily life in various Yemeni governorates.
Granting oil derivatives also had a positive impact on the operation of power generation plants and raising the reliability of electrical power in hospitals, medical centres, roads, schools, airports, ports, and government and private facilities, in addition to supporting industrial activity and enhancing commercial activity.
The Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen presented a number of development projects to raise capacity. To generate electricity and increase the reliability of the electrical network, including establishing electricity generation stations, providing modern electric generators with all their accessories, in addition to enhancing the efficiency of existing generators, which contributed to raising the production capacity of electricity and improving the level of services provided to the population in the beneficiary areas.
The program’s projects and initiatives contributed to raising the production capacity of electricity in a number of Yemeni governorates, and enhancing the Yemeni government’s ability to provide basic, educational, and health services, in addition to supporting the uses of renewable energy in a number of development projects.
/>It is noteworthy that the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen presented 287 development projects and initiatives in eight vital sectors, including education, health, energy, water, transportation, agriculture, fisheries, development programs, and developing and supporting the capabilities of the Yemeni government, in a way that contributes to promoting sustainable development and improving daily life in various Yemeni governorates.
