Weather and climate researcher Abdulaziz Al-Hussaini revealed the climatic characteristics of the month of June, which begins tomorrow, explaining that it witnesses the actual and astronomical beginning of Summer and the beginnings of Dates production.

Al-Hussaini explained that this thirty-day month coincides during the current year with the second half of The month of Dhul-Hijjahand the beginning of the month of Muharram.

The beginning of summer

Al-Hussaini stated that June witnesses the arrival of the first sunrise of summer starting on the seventh day, marking the actual beginning of the season, while summer arrives astronomically on the twenty-first and twenty-second.

He pointed out that the astronomical beginning coincides with the perpendicularity of the sun’s rays along the Tropic of Cancer, which represents the peak of its extension towards the north during the year.

Tabbakh season Color

Al-Hussaini added that the temperature begins to gradually intensify as the sun sets on its return journey south, pointing out that the last third of the month is known as the “color cook” season, where palm fruits begin to colour.

The climate researcher pointed out that the month of June is distinguished by recording the longest day and shortest night in the year, before the change stops for days and the night begins to increase gradually at the expense of daylight hours.

Moderate temperature

He stressed that Rainfall rates are often limited, while temperatures range between moderate and extreme, which is a climatic gradient that contributes to the balanced ripening of dates.

It was concluded that this temperature gradient reflects positively on the agricultural sector, as it prolongs the farmers’ marketing period for the date crop, and gives consumers a longer opportunity to enjoy the wet seasons.
