The Ministry of Health announces that no cases of Ebola infection have been detected in the country

Dubai, 3 June / WAM / The Ministry of Health and Community Protection confirmed that there are no cases of infection with the Ebola virus in the country, while the competent authorities continue to follow global health developments in accordance with the highest levels of health preparedness and surveillance, noting that the UAE continues to maintain advanced levels of health preparedness.
She explained that the relevant authorities in the UAE continue close coordination with the World Health Organization and relevant international health authorities regarding a traveler who was visiting the UAE, as his infection was announced days after he left the country and arrived in Uganda. None of the health authorities in the country recorded that he visited any health facility during his stay in the UAE.
Within the framework of the preparedness and monitoring system adopted in the country, the competent authorities have already activated the necessary health procedures, including risk assessment, contact tracing, and approved precautionary measures, in accordance with national procedures and relevant international standards, and no cases of infection have been recorded.
She stressed that the UAE continues to maintain a high level of health preparedness and surveillance, and will continue to closely follow developments in coordination with partners and relevant international authorities.
The Ministry of Health also stressed the necessity of not circulating rumors or news of unknown origin and that information should be obtained from official authorities only.
