المملكة: Saudi Arabia supports the energy sector in Yemen… supplying oil derivatives worth $150 million


An agreement was signed today "Saudi – Yemeni" To supply Petroleum derivatives supports Electricity generating stations in various Yemeni governorates, worth $150 million, provided by The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, to the Ministry of Electricity and Energy.

This was sponsored by the Prime Minister, Dr. Shaye Mohsen Al-Zindani, and signed by the Minister of Electricity and Energy, Engineer Adnan Al-Kaf, and the General Supervisor of the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, Ambassador Muhammad bin Saeed Al Jaber.

It fuels support for oil derivatives "Diesel and diesel" More than 70 power generation stations in various Yemeni governorates, to enhance the stability of electricity services and the continuity of their operation, and to support the vital and service sectors related to electric energy, as it comes as an extension of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s established approach to supporting the Yemeni people and alleviating their human suffering, especially in light of the high temperatures, and in a way that contributes to stimulating commercial activity, creating job opportunities, and enhancing economic growth in Yemen.

An agreement was also signed between the Yemeni Oil Company "PetroMasila"the Yemeni Ministry of Electricity and Energy, and the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, to contribute to the sustainability of the work "PetroMasila" As a government company, in a way that enhances its capabilities and raises the efficiency of its performance and the continuity of its services, to support the Yemeni government.

The support comes in accordance with comprehensive governance to ensure that the support reaches the final beneficiary, through a higher committee linked to the Prime Minister, which includes several Yemeni bodies working to supervise and control the distribution of oil derivatives to power stations based on the specific need of power generation stations in the Yemeni governorates.

It is noteworthy that the program The Saudi Development and Reconstruction of Yemen provided grants for oil derivatives in 2018, worth $180 million, and a grant in 2021, worth $422 million, in addition to a grant in 2022, worth $200 million, and a grant in 2026, worth $81.2 million.

The current grant, worth $150 million, comes at a time when temperatures and need are rising. The diamond is to raise the quality of electrical service in a way that contributes to improving the daily life and standard of living of our Yemeni brothers.
