المملكة: Urgent: With the consent of his family, donating the organs of a brain-dead child to save the lives of four patients

During the past week, the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation team succeeded in coordinating the Saving the lives of four patients, including two children, and ending their suffering with organ failure diseases, in cooperation with the Maternity and Children’s Hospital in Buraidah.

Saving the lives of patients

A heart transplant was performed that ended the suffering of a ten-month-old infant, and a liver transplant was performed for another eight-year-old girl who suffered from liver failure, in addition to performing two kidney transplants for two patients, one of whom was 37 years old and the other was 21 years old, ending the suffering. Their suffering with diseases Kidney failure and dialysis sessions.

The Director General of the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation, Dr. Talal Al-Qufi, explained that the distribution of organs was in accordance with the approved policies to ensure fair distribution according to the patients’ medical priorities, indicating that this success came as a result of cooperation and joint coordination between the various concerned parties.
The Director of the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation expressed his great gratitude to the family of the deceased child who chose to donate their relatives’ organs, asking God Almighty to He will reward them with the best reward in this world and the hereafter.
