"Islamic Dubai" : application "DXB bucket" It has recorded more than 1 million downloads and 187 million visits since its launch
DUBAI, June 17, 2017 (WAM) – The Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai announced that the “Daluk” application for global prayer times has achieved a qualitative achievement since its launch two years ago, after the number of downloads exceeded one million and 35 thousand downloads, coinciding with the end of the Hijri year 1447, in an indicator that reflects the growing confidence of users in the religious digital services provided by the department according to the highest standards of accuracy and innovation.
The department explained, in a statement today, that the application recorded during the past year about 187 million visits from its users, an average of 310 times per user, to benefit from its various services and succeeded in enhancing communication with more than 250 thousand users weekly through notifications about its features and continuous updates.
She added that the number of users of the application within the UAE exceeded half a million users, while the other half is distributed across various countries of the world, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Arab Republic of Egypt, Germany, the United States of America, the United Kingdom, and the Sultanate of Oman, in addition to a noticeable spread in Bangladesh, India, Senegal, Algeria, Morocco, France, the Netherlands, and Belgium.
Statistics indicated that the application recorded the highest daily usage rate during the last month of Ramadan, with 130,000 active users, while the number of active users on normal days approaches 50,000 users, which reflects its position among specialized smart applications.
The DXB application aims to provide prayer times, Qibla direction, and the Hijri calendar for all cities in the world accurately and reliably, which contributes to enhancing the quality of religious digital services and facilitating community members’ access to them via smart platforms.
In this context, Dr. Hamad Mohammed Saleh, Head of the Times and New Moons Department, confirmed that the success achieved by the DXB application reflects the growing confidence it enjoys as one of the world’s leading digital platforms in providing accurate legal and astronomical services according to the highest technical standards.
The department confirmed that these results come in line with its strategic plans and the directives of the wise leadership towards building a pioneering digital government system, developing smart proactive services that contribute to customer happiness, strengthening Dubai’s leadership in the field of community digital services, and establishing a culture of innovation in government work.
