Baby corner in "Emirati House" Presents an interactive cultural program at the Beijing Book Fair
Beijing, June 19, 2026 – The Children’s Corner at the Emirates House, as part of the UAE’s participation as guest of honor in the 32nd session of the Beijing International Book Fair 2026, presents a cultural and interactive program dedicated to children and families, aiming to introduce the emerging generations to the elements of Emirati culture and heritage.
The corner is organized by the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood in cooperation with the UAE Embassy in the People’s Republic of China and the Ministry of Culture, and is in line with the slogan of Emirati participation, “Society and People.”
The program includes the “Council of Values: A Journey Through the Sands and Seas” experience, which introduces children to the history of the country and its societal values through Emirati cultural symbols such as the camel, the ghaf tree, the falcon and the dallah, and the connotations they carry related to patience, courage, generosity and tolerance.
The corner also includes theatrical reading sessions for the stories “Grandpa Hamdan’s Treasure” and “The Tree of Beauty in the Land of Sand,” drawing and coloring activities inspired by the Emirati environment, and an interactive program to teach children Arabic words and their synonyms in Chinese.
In the context of supporting emerging literary talents, the Corner hosted a dialogue session, entitled “Children Draw the Future with Their Writings: From Idea to Publication,” in which Sheikha Rawda bint Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, author of the story “Grandpa Hamdan’s Treasure,” and writer Reiman Abdullah, member of the Emirati Children’s Parliament and author of the story “The Tree of Beauty in the Land of Sand,” participated.
The session highlighted the authors’ experiences in creative writing, and the role of reading in developing children’s imaginations and enabling them to express their ideas and ambitions.
The corner witnessed a large turnout from Chinese families and visitors of different nationalities, whose children participated in the available interactive activities.
