Dubai Airports unveils the new visual design of the air traffic control tower at Dubai International Airport

Dubai, June 24 / WAM / Dubai Airports revealed the new visual design of the air traffic control tower at Dubai International Airport, giving one of the airport’s most prominent and visible landmarks a new look that embodies national pride at Dubai’s gateway to the world.

According to a press release issued today, the tower’s new identity is draped with the UAE flag, adding a deep national dimension to one of the most prominent landmarks of Dubai International Airport, so that the tower is part of the experience of guests arriving to and departing from Dubai.

The unveiling of the new identity came during a special celebratory event in the air operations area, which witnessed a parade of Dubai Police in front of the air traffic control tower in its new look, in the presence of a number of senior leaders from Dubai Airports, along with operations teams and partners of the airport community “oneDXB”, in an occasion that reflected the level of coordination and joint work between the various teams and partners who contribute daily to the smooth flow of operations at Dubai International Airport.

Dubai International Airport has evolved from a single runway in 1960 to become the world’s busiest airport for international passengers. The 89-meter-high air traffic control tower, which entered service after expansion work in 2000, plays a pivotal role in the rhythm of its daily operations, as every arrival or departure flight, and every aircraft movement on the airport grounds, depends on close coordination between air operations teams, airlines, ground handling service providers, safety teams, service partners, and the airport community (oneDXB). Wider.

The tower features a design based on a supported central column and two arched wings, giving it a shape resembling a futuristic sculpture inspired by the shapes of birds.

At its top, the tower includes an advanced multi-level control center, which is its most prominent feature, through which Dubai Air Navigation Services manages air traffic and ensures the smooth flow of operations at the world’s busiest airports for international passengers.
