"Baniyas" He continues to lead on the second day of the fifth round of the Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship

Abu Dhabi, June 27 / WAM / The fifth round of the Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship for the Suit category continues today, its competitions at the Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi, with the holding of the Buds category fights, amid wide participation from various clubs and academies, and the presence of large audiences and families, in a new confirmation of the position that the tournament has established as one of the most important national platforms for spreading the sport of Jiu-Jitsu, expanding the base of its practitioners, discovering talents, and creating future champions.
The second day’s competitions witnessed the participation of large numbers of male and female players, who presented promising technical levels that reflected the continuous development of programs for preparing age groups, and contributed to consolidating the basics of the game among young people, and enhancing the values of self-confidence, discipline, and the spirit of challenge, in addition to gaining the necessary experience in an organized competitive atmosphere.
In terms of results, Baniyas Club topped the overall standings, MOD Academy came in second place, while Al Jazira Club came in third place.
The competitions were attended by His Excellency Abdel Moneim Al Sayed Mohammed Al Hashemi, President of the Emirati and Asian Federations and First Vice President of the International Jiu-Jitsu Federation, His Excellency Saleh Al Jaziri, Director General of Tourism at the Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi, His Excellency Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice President of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation, His Excellency Hamad Mohammed Al Marar, CEO and Managing Director of the EDGE Group, His Excellency Mohammed bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, His Excellency Yousef Abdullah Al Batran, members of the Board of Directors, and Fahd Ali. Al Shamsi, Secretary General of the Federation, Mohammed Hussein Karmastji, CEO of Q Mobility, Farid Al Awlaki, CEO of the Electricity Generation and Water Desalination Business Sector at Abu Dhabi National Energy Company “Taqa”, and a number of Federation officials, sponsors, and representatives of clubs and academies.
His Excellency Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri stressed that allocating the second day’s competitions to the buds category embodies the federation’s vision of investing in new generations, and consolidating jiu-jitsu as a sport that contributes to building personality and enhancing the values of discipline and self-confidence from an early age.
He said that the Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship represents one of the basic pillars for the development of the game, by providing an integrated competitive environment that allows young players to gain experience and progress in their sports career according to solid technical and organizational foundations, noting that the broad participation from various clubs and academies reflects the success of the federation’s plans to expand the base of practitioners and discover talents, while the heavy family presence adds an important societal dimension that enhances the role of the family as a major partner in supporting sons and daughters and encouraging them to continue practicing sports.
Muhammad Hussein Karmastji expressed his happiness with the strategic partnership with Jiu-Jitsu, because of its positive impact on society, whether at the level of players or parents, and its role in enhancing community cohesion and consolidating positive values, stressing the continuation of cooperation with the UAE Federation for Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts to provide more initiatives that serve the community.
Guilherme Fernandez, father of GF Team USAE player Mathilde, who won the gold medal in the children’s under-18 kg category, said that his daughter has been practicing jiu-jitsu for four years, noting that he encouraged her to practice the game because of its role in developing self-confidence, discipline and respect in children, stressing that the tournament represents a distinguished initiative that gives young people the opportunity to interact, gain experience and build friendships within the jiu-jitsu community.
The fifth round competitions will conclude tomorrow, Sunday, with matches in the under-12, 14, and 16-year-old categories for boys and girls, with the clubs looking forward to strengthening their score in the overall standings and continuing to provide levels that reflect the rapid development of the UAE jiu-jitsu system and its ability to prepare new generations of champions.
