"Etihad Airways" Inaugurates its new line to Dhaka and expands trade horizons

Abu Dhabi, June 27 / WAM / The inaugural Etihad Airways flight to the Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka, yesterday registered full occupancy of all its seats on board a Boeing 777 aircraft, in a strategic step aimed at meeting the continuing demand for travel and logistics services between the UAE and Bangladesh, and enhancing commercial connectivity and freight services through the South Asia Corridor.
Antonualdo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, stressed that this large turnout and the departure of the flight at full capacity strongly reflects the strength of the ties that unite the two countries, and translates the continuing demand witnessed by this vital destination in the travel and air cargo sectors.
The company operates its new service with four flights per week using Boeing 777 aircraft, providing a large cargo capacity in addition to 28 seats in business class and 374 seats in economy class for each flight, which provides strong support for the increasing growth in cargo volumes and meets the increasing demand for travel from guests.
The large cargo capacity allocated on these wide-body aircraft, in parallel with meeting the growing demand for passenger travel, supports the movement of cargo transportation related to the Bangladeshi clothing and textile sector, which is classified as one of the sectors of global importance, which in turn contributes to consolidating Abu Dhabi’s position as a major gateway linking the South Asia region to the growing global network of destinations for Etihad Airways.
Guests traveling through Abu Dhabi can take advantage of the benefits offered by Etihad Airways’ “Abu Dhabi Stopover” programme, which gives them an exceptional opportunity to tour and explore the Emirati capital before continuing their flights to their final destinations.
