The secretariat explained that the work of Maritime Control During the past six months, it included supervision of investment beaches and resorts with 720 field visits, which resulted in monitoring 74 violations, within its jurisdiction to determine the facilities’ compliance with approved requirements, and the safety of facilities and activities.

It indicated that control and rescue work is managed through a naval fleet equipped with tracking systems and operational technologies, in addition to field rooms that operate around the clock, ensuring continuous follow-up and dealing with reports. And emergency situations.

Safe coasts

The Jeddah Municipality continues to strengthen the marine control and rescue system in an integrated framework with the relevant authorities, which contributes to raising the level of safety for beachgoers, and preserving the marine environment, to reach safe and sustainable coasts that enhance the quality of life, within the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030.

It is noteworthy that the Municipality is a governorate. Jeddah, assumes its duties through the Marine Coastal Monitoring and Protection Agency, which works through rescue teams, marine control, and resort control, according to specific operational scopes covering 530 kilometers of coast extending from Rabigh in the north to Al-Qunfudhah in the south.
