A new agreement to develop padel sport in the Emirates in cooperation with the Gustavo Prato International Academy

Dubai, 5 July / WAM / The advanced course for coaches and players, which was held at the “Paddle Kingdom” Academy branch in Dubai, was concluded today, marking the first cooperation between the Academy and the Gustavo Prato International Academy, within the framework of an agreement announced with the Dubai Sports Council and the Emirates Tennis and Padel Federation.

The occasion witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between Padel Kingdom and the Spanish Gustavo Prato Academy, owned by international coach Gustavo Prato, with the aim of transferring his training expertise to the academy’s coaches and players in its three branches in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Bahrain, by applying an internationally approved training methodology that combines theoretical and practical aspects, and is based on a record of successes in preparing players.

The agreement was signed by Abdullah Al-Jarrah for the Paddle Kingdom Academy, while it was signed by Gustavo Prato for the Gustavo Prato Academy.

14 male and female students representing 6 countries participated in the course: the Emirates, Argentina, Egypt, Syria, Spain, and Iran, with aspirations that its outcomes will contribute to supporting the development of padel in the Emirates and the region to reach international levels.

Under the agreement, Padel Kingdom adopts the Gustavo Prato Academy methodology as an official framework for training in all its branches, which includes 9 indoor courts with professional specifications, and serves a community of more than 18,000 players and visitors in the region.

Gustavo Prato is considered one of the most prominent coaches in the history of professional padel. Over the course of 25 years, he developed a training methodology that has become a reference in preparing players at the highest levels.

Among the most prominent graduates of his school are the duo Arturo Cuello and Agustín Tapia, who are currently ranked first in the world on the Premier Paddle Tour, in addition to prominent players who have previously topped the world rankings, including Maxi Sanchez and Paula Josemaria.

The agreement stipulates the organization of training programs supervised by certified trainers in “Paddle Kingdom” according to the Prato methodology, and includes three tracks designated for adult and junior players, in addition to intensive training programs for companies and individuals.

This step comes in light of the rapid growth witnessed by the sport of padel in the Gulf region during the past three years, as the UAE has emerged as one of the fastest growing markets for this sport outside Europe, with the increasing number of stadium operators in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and the increasing interest of the International Padel Federation in the region as one of its strategic priorities.
