Saqr bin Saud witnesses the conclusion of the second edition of the Ras Al Khaimah Fitness Challenge

Ras Al Khaimah, 5 July / WAM / Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah, Sheikh Saqr bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ras Al Khaimah Ceramics, today witnessed the conclusion of the competitions of the second edition of the “Ras Al Khaimah Fitness Challenge”, which was held in the gym in the Al Dhait area.

The closing ceremony was attended by a number of officials and sports figures.

Sheikh Saqr bin Saud crowned the contestant, Ahmed Muhammad Ashtiri Al Taniji, the champion of the initiative, after winning first place. He also honored 20 winners at the conclusion of the initiative, which witnessed the participation of 126 contestants from the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, whose ages ranged between 13 and 30 years. The participants succeeded in achieving a total loss of 726 kilograms over the course of the challenge period.

The initiative is one of the most prominent sporting events aimed at promoting the culture of exercise and physical fitness, and establishing the concept of a healthy lifestyle among members of society, which contributes to improving public health and encouraging community members to practice sports.

Sheikh Saqr bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi stressed that the “Ras Al Khaimah Fitness Challenge” represents one of the initiatives aimed at establishing the culture of exercising as a way of life, which contributes to preparing a generation that enjoys health, fitness and discipline, motivates young people to adopt healthy lifestyles, and enhances the values ​​of positive competition.

The qualifiers, which began at the beginning of this year, witnessed strong competitions characterized by excitement and competition, in light of the high physical and technical levels presented by the participants, in addition to a remarkable public presence that accompanied the various stages of the competitions, with 20 contestants reserving their seats in the final stage after intense competition.

The organizing committee allocated financial prizes amounting to 50,000 dirhams for the first-place winner, 49,000 dirhams for the second-place winner, and 48,000 dirhams for the third-place winner, while the value of the prizes ranges up to twentieth place, which receives 31,000 dirhams, confirming the initiative’s keenness to motivate participants and appreciate their excellence and achievements.
