Ebola cases in Congo rose to 1,561 cases

The death toll from the Ebola virus in Congo has risen to 1,561 confirmed cases, of whom 506 have died.

According to a report issued by the Congolese health authorities, 254 patients have recovered so far, while 628 confirmed patients are still under isolation or treatment in hospitals.

The report indicated that the outbreak has so far affected 36 health regions distributed in 3 provinces.
