Abu Dhabi, 6 July / WAM / Under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sandooq Al Watan, the activities of the Summer Programs of Sandooq Al Watan 2026 were launched yesterday under the slogan “Proud of the Emirates”, in more than 50 locations distributed among private schools, partnership schools, and cultural and youth centers in the various emirates of the country.

The programs extend over a period of three weeks, and this year focuses on strengthening national identity and pride in the nation and its wise leadership, learning the basics of artificial intelligence technology and how to benefit from it, and combining education, entertainment, culture, sports, innovation, and recreational and cultural trips for its members.

The first week, which began yesterday under the title “I am an Emirati,” focuses on strengthening Emirati identity and values, as the first day witnessed the various summer program headquarters and the history of the Emirates, the concept of homeland and its importance in an individual’s life, in addition to presenting various activities that provide focused knowledge about leadership, their achievements, and their role in building and developing the Emirates locally and internationally.

The students designed creative, expressive paintings about the history of the Emirates and famous landmarks in the country, wrote letters of thanks or patriotic poems, and designed a postage stamp that expresses the nation’s identity.

His Excellency Yasser Al Gergawi, Director General of Sandooq Al Watan, confirmed that the launch of the summer programs represents a practical translation of the directives of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan to make the summer vacation a national station for building the Emirati personality among new generations, consolidating the national identity, strengthening belonging, and discovering energies and talents, which contributes to preparing generations that possess self-confidence, are proud of their national values, and believe that the future of the Emirates is made by its children.

He said that the slogan “Proud of the Emirates” is not just a title for the program, but rather an integrated national message, aiming to instill feelings of pride in the nation, its leadership and its achievements, and to introduce students to the Emirati success story and the exceptional achievements the country has achieved in various fields, thus enhancing their sense of responsibility towards continuing this path and preserving its gains.

He added that Sandooq Al Watan’s summer programs this year are witnessing a qualitative expansion in their content and activities, as they offer hundreds of events that combine culture, heritage, arts, sports, science, innovation, artificial intelligence and the Arabic language, in addition to interactive workshops, competitions, theatrical performances, trips and creative activities supervised by an elite group of Emirati academics, creators, writers, artists and experts, who number more than 135 creators in various fields.

He pointed out that the events focus in particular on developing creative thinking skills and artistic and literary creativity among students, enhancing the culture of innovation, and introducing them to the latest applications of artificial intelligence and future technologies, in parallel with consolidating the national and humanitarian values ​​on which the UAE was founded, in order to achieve a balance between pride in identity and openness to the data of the future.

Al Gergawi explained that Sandooq Al Watan was keen this year to distribute program sites in various emirates of the country, through private schools and partnership schools, in addition to a number of cultural and youth centres, praising the full cooperation with the Ministries of Culture and Youth and the Department of Education and Knowledge in Abu Dhabi, allowing the largest segment of students to participate and benefit from the activities, and embodies the concept of community partnership between educational, cultural and national institutions.

He pointed out that the program pays great attention to the Arabic language, as the language of identity, culture and civilization, in addition to introducing the Emirati heritage and the authentic values ​​of society, through interactive activities, competitions and specialized workshops, in a way that strengthens the students’ connection to the history and culture of their homeland, and instills in them the values ​​of tolerance, coexistence, work and giving.

He pointed out that Sandooq Al Watan’s summer programs represent a national investment in humanity, and a renewed message to build generations that are aware of their identity, proud of their language, adhere to their values, and capable of creativity, competition, and creating a more prosperous future for the Emirates, in line with the vision of the wise leadership in building a knowledge society and creating Emirati people capable of leading the future.
