Promoting the Arab League and repositioning it strategically is a collective responsibility

Nabil Fahmy, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, stressed that the advancement of the Arab League and its strategic repositioning represent a collective responsibility based on the full partnership between the General Secretariat and the member states, stressing the importance of adopting a practical approach based on setting priorities, setting executable steps, and continuous follow-up of the results of the work.
This came during a meeting held today by Fahmy with the permanent delegates to the League of Arab States, in which he reviewed his vision for the next stage and the work priorities of the General Secretariat to develop the League’s performance and strengthen the joint Arab action system.
Fahmy explained that he briefed the permanent delegates on the content of the speech he addressed to the Arab foreign ministers on the occasion of assuming his duties, and reviewed the priorities of the next phase and his vision for developing the performance of the League of Arab States, in addition to a number of proposals aimed at raising the efficiency of the institutional performance of the General Secretariat in a way that enhances its ability to carry out its tasks and keep pace with the requirements of this stage, stressing that the success of these efforts requires the continued support of member states and the fulfillment of their obligations towards the League.
