المملكة: A new international achievement: adopting a food standard adopted by the Codex Alimentarius Commission

The adoption of the standard contributes to unifying the technical requirements for the maamoul product, and supports the access of high-quality national products to regional and international markets, especially since the Kingdom is considered one of the most prominent countries producing it, as it is considered one of the products that support the date manufacturing industries.

Maamoul is a baked product that is prepared from flour or semolina, and consists of dough that is usually filled with date paste or Nuts.

Food products

This accreditation comes as an extension of the Kingdom’s participation, represented by the Food and Drug Authority, in the work of developing regional and international food standards and unifying their technical requirements, in a way that enhances the safety of food products, facilitates their trade, and supports the Authority’s objectives in consumer protection.
