The champions of the Arab Reading Challenge in the UAE emphasize the role of knowledge in refining their personalities and building their ambitions
Dubai, July 9 / WAM / The winners of the tenth session of the Arab Reading Challenge across the UAE, during interviews conducted by the Emirates News Agency, WAM, unanimously agreed that reading constituted a cognitive journey for them that contributed to developing their personalities and enhancing their self-confidence, reviewing their experiences and their journey towards winning and the impact of the initiative in developing their passion for knowledge.
Student Dana Adel Al Zarouni from Al Ittihad National Private School in Abu Dhabi, winner of first place and champion of the challenge at the state level, confirmed that belief in dreams, diligence and perseverance are the way to achieve a well-deserved victory. She explained that her passion for reading led her to read more than two hundred books during the past year alone, exceeding the requirements of the competition in which she participated for three consecutive years. She indicated that this achievement expanded her awareness and changed her ambition from psychiatry to the diplomatic corps to represent the UAE in International forums.
Student Hamad Muhammad Ibrahim Al Hashemi from Al Mahmoud School in Sharjah, who won second place, expressed his pride in this achievement, which was the culmination of his participation in the competition over the course of nine years, dedicating his victory to his family, school, homeland, and the Emirate of Sharjah. Al Hashemi sent a message to young people stressing the importance of reading as the key to knowledge and the path to achieving ambitions and self-development.
The grandmother of the student Yousef Muhammad Saeed from Al Qudwa School in Sharjah, who won first place in the People of Determination category, expressed her pride in her grandson’s passion for reading and his memorization of ten parts of the Holy Qur’an, and stressed her continued keenness to direct him to read religious books and the stories of the prophets and companions, and to continue supporting him to fulfill his late mother’s wish to become the imam of a mosque.
