المملكة: Education begins implementing the Arab model of quality and excellence to develop institutional performance

Started Ministry of Education Implementing the Arab model for quality and excellence in education, in partnership with The Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
The launch of the program, which lasts for four days at the Ministry’s headquarters in Riyadh, was sponsored by the Minister of Education and Chairman of the Center’s Board of Directors, Yousef Al-Benyan, and in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Education for General Education, Dr. Saad Al-Harbi, along with a number of officials, representatives of international organizations, educational leaders, experts and specialists.
Developing the educational system
The Deputy Minister of Education for General Education, Dr. Saad, confirmed Al-Harbi said that implementing the model comes as an extension of the support that the education sector in the Kingdom enjoys from the wise leadership, and in line with the ministry’s efforts to develop the educational system, enhance the quality of its outputs, and raise the efficiency of its performance, leading to building a globally competitive education that contributes to preparing people and developing the future.
He explained that the Arab model for quality and excellence in education represents an Arab initiative that aims to provide a unified methodological framework that supports educational institutions in developing their performance, raising their efficiency, and enhancing their ability to achieve a sustainable educational impact, noting that Its implementation in the Kingdom represents a qualitative step towards establishing a culture of performance measurement and linking educational practices to indicators, results and impact at the strategic and operational levels. In various education sectors.
While the Director-General of the UNESCO Regional Center for Quality and Excellence in Education, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Mudaris, explained that the launch of the application of the model in the Kingdom represents a transition from the stage of building the model to the stage of practical application, which contributes to transforming the concepts of quality and excellence into institutional practices and measurable indicators that support decision-making and establish a culture of continuous improvement.
Scientific Framework
Al-Mudaris indicated that the model was designed to be a practical framework that helps educational institutions diagnose its reality, defining development priorities, and building evidence-based improvement plans that link leadership, policies, learning environments, performance outcomes, and the impact on the learner and society.
He added that applying the model in the Kingdom is of particular importance due to its vast educational system and pioneering development experiences, which makes the Saudi experience a reference model that can be used to support the application of the model at the level of Arab countries, based on the Kingdom’s position as the home country of the UNESCO Regional Center for Quality and Excellence in Education.
Culture Institutional
He explained that the model is based on an integrated system that includes the general model of quality and excellence in education, in addition to specialized models covering the quality of early childhood care and education, technical and vocational education, education in crises and emergencies, and green education, supported by frameworks, standards and indicators that contribute to building an institutional culture based on evaluation, continuous improvement and sustainability of performance.
The program, which targets decision-makers and educational leaders in various sectors of the ministry, includes scientific sessions, discussion panels, and workshops. Specialized training work with the participation of experts in quality and institutional excellence, focusing on mechanisms for implementing the model, building national capabilities, and enabling educational leaders and cadres to employ it in developing institutional performance, in a way that enhances the competitiveness of the education sector at the regional and international levels.
